MedWiz Pharmacy of Kentucky is now hiring pharmacists for our rapidly growing location in Lexington, KY. The ideal candidate for this position possesses a great work ethic and positive attitude, has the desire to learn new tasks, is able to execute their clinical skills in a variety of ways on a daily basis, is very organized and has the ability to prioritize workflow, and demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.

Availability on nights and weekends is a requirement. We currently have openings for full and part time positions. Must have an active KY pharmacist license in good standing. 

Responsibilities:

• Reviews prescriptions issued by Physician, or other authorized prescriber to ensure accuracy.
• Performs drug utilization reviews for all patient records.
• Answers questions and provides drug information assistance to a variety of healthcare professionals regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, storage of pharmaceuticals and any other information related to patient care, using own professional judgment.
• Directs pharmacy staff engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
• Oversees the compounding of both sterile and non-sterile prescription orders.
• Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of pharmacy and controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
