Whether it’s live or on-demand, continuous streaming or event-based, we provide world-class encoding performance, a robust packaging feature set, and TV platforms that have been used by more subscribers than any other TV service on Earth. Job Description The Senior Support Engineer position is a Global role, servicing customers worldwide, with a range of different solutions, incorporating various Mediakind products such as MediaFirst, & Media Processing products and whose deployment are a combination of on-premises as well as Azure cloud-based deployments. You will be part of a well-established Worldwide support team where you will use monitoring tools, metrics, and analytics, as early leading indicators into the health of the MediaKind family of products. The role will also involve troubleshooting of issues when and as they arise as well as identifying areas where automation of healing actions can be implemented by the engineering teams.You will work closely with the Senior Support Engineers, the Customer as well as the R&D Engineering teams to quickly identify software bugs for R&D teams to work on. You will assist in deploying new software releases to the customers pre-production environments, where the necessary qualification tests will be performed to ensure quality of the release, to deploy the release in the Production Environment.This role is vital to the long-term success of MediaKind as MediaKind continues to be the leader in the media industry.Responsibilities You will work in conjunction with the MediaKind support team to ensure standard practices, tools, and ways-of-working are provided to the customer thereby providing a Professional level of support to Mediakind customersYou will partner with the R&D Engineering teams to maintain an optimal Mean-Time-To-Resolution (MTTR) for all customer issuesYou will work with Cloud Engineering to improve reliability of Mediakind’s Cloud deployed products.Yu will be involved in Proactive Monitoring of MediaKind deployed systems at customer site(s)You will be involved in Troubleshooting of customer incidents including outages, where you will be responsible to bring the system back on its feet or escalate to the next level of support in a timely manner. Suggested QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science or a related disciplineIn-depth knowledge of MPEG, OTT and DVB systems with a technical knowledge/experience covering but not limited to: Networks and Communications using IP Ethernet and routers, an understanding of Broadcast and IP protocols including use of associated analysis tools, Windows Server, Linux OS and virtual machine environmentsScripting expertiseKnowledge of Grafana, Kibana, and Prometheus an assetPrior technical customer service experienceBe part of an on-call 24/7 rotation,Ability to shift work week from 16:00 EST to 12:00 AM EST on an as needed basisWillingness to work shifts on weekends (from time-to-time)In depth Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills including fault isolation and analysis.Planning and implementing upgrade and expansion procedures.Monitoring the deployed system as necessaryComfort in working with customersDeveloping customer facing documentation as needed.Communicating customer requirements to our product and engineering staff.Excellent communication skillsAbility to effectively handle multiple customer demands and prioritiesStrong teamwork skillsStrong understanding of changing pace and culture of operator environmentExcellent command of English communication, written and verbalSelf-learningSelf-motivated#LI-REMOTE#LI-PG1
