Role Overview

We are currently looking for a motivated, proactive, hands-on and energetic Senior Accountant to join MediaAlpha’’s Accounting team. This role will report to the Sr. Manager of Accounting Operations. You will be a key member of the accounting team and will support the month-end close process by being responsible for the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and other related accounting duties. Responsibilities

• Support the month-end close process, prepare journal entries, compose balance sheet account reconciliations, and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Prepare flux analyses, internal reports, regulatory filings and assist with the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Maintain company–wide fixed assets and prepare related property tax filings.
• Prepare intercompany transactions and manage the accounting and month-end close process for foreign subsidiaries or affiliated companies.
• Commitment to continuously improve automated accounting/reporting processes and strive for developing sustainable, efficient processes. 
• Cross-train and provide support to Revenue/AP-Treasury Teams; supervise accounting staff as needed.
• Assist in coordinating audit support and testing with internal and external auditors.
• Document policies, desk procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibilities.
• Key contributor with system integrations, ad-hoc special projects and requests as needed. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience – public company experience a plus.
• CPA or working towards completing a CPA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger, month-end close, US GAAP and internal controls.
• Proficient with accounting systems and applications – Sage Intacct a plus.
• Proficient Excel skills including pivot tables and vlook-ups.
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Intellectual curiosity, willingness to learn and ask questions, strong organizational and follow through skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail, excellent communication skill, self-motivated, proactive, and ability to multitask while meeting deadlines.
