Overview:
The Licensing Specialist is responsible for meeting day to day Credentialing goals with a primary focus on processing clinician licensing applications and
performing all appropriate verifications.
Responsibilities:
·Interact professionally with state licensing boards, clinicians, client representatives, and internal teams
·Act as a liaison between medical boards and clinicians regarding licensure requirements, questions, and updates on the status of applications
·Develop and maintain internal tracking reports utilizing Excel
·Learn and use internal credentialing databases to maintain effectiveness and efficiency
·Participate in the development of internal licensing processes
·Request and verify documentation and information pertaining to clinician credentials and certifications for licensure
·Complete clinician state licensing and licensure renewal applications including Controlled Substance Registration /Drug Enforcement Administration where applicable; monitor applications and perform follow up, as needed
·Maintain an in-depth knowledge of licensure requirements for individual states i.e., compact state regulations, Federation Credentials Verification Service continuing education, etc.
·Preserve quality and integrity of clinician files; ensuring files are maintained according to all applicable governing agencies and internal policies, to include both paper and electronic document management
·Display excellent customer service skills by following up with clinicians and external partners timely, accurately, and professionally
·Follow credentialing processes for new and existing staff as necessary to complete the onboarding process, including assistance with facility privileging
·Participate in periodic departmental and/or other meetings
·Perform other appropriate Credentialing or Clinical Affairs tasks as requested
Qualifications:
·College degree preferred
·Minimum 1 years’ experience preferred in healthcare with administrative responsibilities including provider state licensing
·Knowledge/experience with Medical and Nursing Licensing Boards
·Ability to independently organize workload and manage multiple projects within deadlines
·Effective team player with the ability to collaborate across and outside the organization to support
·clinical operations, interacting with clinicians, executives, clients, and others
·Meticulous follow-through of delegated tasks
·Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
·Strong organizational skills, including time management and ability to manage high-volume email
·correspondence
·Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
Location: Brooklyn NY 11205
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In Office)
Shift: 9:00am- 5:00pm (full time-permanent)
Salary Range: $19.00- 25.00 per hour (depending on experience)
