About New Mexico Military Institute:NMMI is a state-supported, co-educational college preparatory high school and junior college, complete with Junior and Senior ROTC programs. With a Corps of Cadets numbering up to 1,000 young men and women, NMMI provides an accredited college preparatory curriculum on the high school level and is currently developing a new middle school.
Position Under the general direction, the Skilled Trades Manager - Mechanical coordinates and supervises the Mechanical team in their assignments according to primary responsibility. The Skilled Trades Manager for Mechanical Services assigns workloads to team members and coordinates with contractors and vendors as required to support the Facilities Operations Manager. This position will also assist the Facilities Operations Manager in ensuring shop compliance with safety, work control, preventive maintenance, and energy management programs. Performs administrative duties associated with the job, such as work order management, employee leave records, requisitions, time sheets, equipment repair records, and invoices, and participates in staff evaluations. Assists the Facilities Operations Manager with the supervision of the Mechanical Services Team. This is a 12-month, exempt, full-time position. The salary range is $48,000.00 to $55,000.00. Tasks:
· Responsible for supervising skilled trades mechanical staff and participating in hiring, disciplinary, and evaluation processes.
· Coordinates general repair, preventative maintenance, and minor capital projects for NMMI facilities.
· Supervision of personnel, workflow management, budget management, procedural development, and implementations.
· Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills:
· Ability to lead Skilled Trades Mechanical Team successfully.
· Knowledge of the principles and practices of skills trades, maintenance, and repairs.
· Knowledge of the principles and practices of preventive maintenance programs.
· Knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision.
· Skill in planning, organizing, and establishing group objectives.
Qualifications:
Required:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Five years of experience in either Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Trades.
· One-year Supervisory Experience.
Preferred
· Licensure in one of the skilled trades.
· Pool Operators Certification.
