Summary
Under direct supervision, the Shipping Clerk will perform a variety of tasks related to the receiving, storage, handling, and shipment of material, equipment, and product. As general policy, all stockroom personnel are expected to be proficient with general material handling and processing duties that include receiving, stockroom duties and shipping. The Shipping Clerk oversees and keeps records of shipping and receiving. More specifically, they are responsible for organizing, sorting, and transferring goods from one location to another. They monitor company packages from the start to finish, ensuring proper packing techniques and shipping practices. The Shipping Clerk will spend a large portion of their time engaged in shipping and receiving functions. Any remaining time will be spent performing general functions in support of the stockroom

Essential Functions*

• Prepare items for shipping following standard procedures
• Assemble shipping cartons, boxes or other packaging as required
• Schedule large shipments and assist with logistics to ensure on time delivery is met
• Perform shipping functions by loading trucks, breaking down boxes, etc.
• Support general stockroom functions, receiving, sorting and placement of materials, kitting, and facilities maintenance within area
• Record and enter all information into the ERP system

Education, Experience, and Skills*
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1-3 years related experience
• Must have strong communication skills to understand verbal and written instructions
• Ability to operate forklift safely and pass forklift certification
• Ability to count accurately
• Basic computer skills including: ability to work within ERP system
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment

Physical Demands*
The physical requirements for this position involve frequently remaining in a stationary position frequently moving throughout all work centers. This position occasionally climbs stairs or ladders. This position occasionally lifts or carries objects weighing less than 10lbs unassisted, occasionally lifts or carries objects weighing 11-25lbs unassisted, and occasionally lifts or carries 26-50lbs with assistance.
