Summary

 The Buyer will source and purchase materials, equipment, and services to support the Company’s daily operational needs. The buyer will also be responsible for maintaining good supplier relationships, excellent quality, and will initiate cost and lead time reduction.

Essential Functions

• Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and/or delivery schedule
• Prepare purchase orders using the ERP system output
• Routinely send purchase order backlog reports to vendors for delivery commitment confirmation
• ​​​​​​​Contact vendors to follow up and to resolve discrepancies with quantity and quality
• ​​​​​​​Manage defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action
• ​​​​​​​Maintain relationship with vendors and ensure the lowest cost available 
• ​​​​​​​Initiate process, vendor or lead time change when issues arise ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
• Work in a safe manner and in accordance with established operating procedures and practice
• ​​​​​​​Observe all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the company

Education, Experience, and Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent required,
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or other related field preferred
• 3-5 years related experience in manufacturing, contract manufacturing a plus 
• Excellent problem solving and reasoning skills 
• Strong English communication skills. Must be able to create clear and detailed records and documents and to communicate professionally and effectively with suppliers and employees
• Strong computer skills including:
  • Ability to work within ERP system
  • MS Office software including moderate Excel capabilities
  • Adobe PDF Software
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
• Ability to multi-task
