Employee Type: Full time Location: TX San Antonio Job Type: Quality Assurance Job Posting Title: QA Technician (2nd Shift) Job Description: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs product inspections on the line, both visually and analytically to check for: pH, salt, brix, ostwick, drain weight, packaging, coding, capping and other testing as needed. Assist with getting the plant ready for external visitors and auditors. Compile, enter and analyze data as requested. Verify cook charts against required cooking temperature and cooking time both at the cook room and filler. Assists with PDR product and DMR material where forms are completed prior to placing product on hold. Prepares paperwork and SAP PO for a Mini and FG Labs, calibrate and maintain Lab equipment. Assist other Departments (Production, FVC, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Warehouse) related to Food Safety and Quality. Assist with the development of SOPs as needed. Compile and analyze data as requested. Provides validation of quality programs and related to SOPs, Process Controls, Food Safety (HACCP), GMPs, Product Specifications and conformance to product standards. Guide employees on the manufacturing teams to understand the aspects of the Quality Systems. Audit employee and product performance. Helps establish quality assurance guidelines and perform internal organizational inspections of both products and equipment to make sure these guidelines are being followed. Coordinate product to be sent for R&D or First Production Runs. Other duties as assigned. KEY COMPETENCIES: Must be highly organized, be able to multi-task and work well under pressure. Must be able to work independently, as well as under supervision. Must be able to work effectively with others, have good interpersonal and leadership skills. Must be willing to accept responsibility and to show good judgement, initiative, and resourcefulness. Must be willing to support and be engaged in continuous improvement projects. QUALIFICATION: High school diploma or GED, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred but not required. Must know and understand all allergens processed through the machine. Must have at least 6 months experience on a food manufacture work environment. Must be proficient with Microsoft programs such as Word, Outlook and Excel.
