As a Medical Assistant/Medical Receptionist you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office/clinic. You will support doctors, patients and staff through a variety of tasks related to patient care, management, organization and communication. MD 1st Urgent Care is a small business in Flat Rock, MI. We are seeking an experienced, professional individual who is passionate about making a difference. The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for greeting patients, checking them in and out, verifying insurance information and patient contact info, and keeping the waiting room clean and organized. The ideal candidate will be extremely detail-oriented, quick with numbers and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Answer phone calls, emails, and walk-in requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Answer phones in a courteous and professional manner.
• Triage incoming requests and direct appropriate ones to the appropriate staff members.
• Evaluate insurance information and verify patients' eligibility for services and/or financial assistance programs.
• Communicate with patients, families, physicians, and other staff members in a professional, clear manner.
• Answer the phone and relay messages to appropriate individuals.
• Provide information for initial evaluation of patients and point them to the correct intake worker in the urgent care clinic or occupational medicine.
• Confirm all insurance information to be sure that patients receive proper services, procedures, or prescriptions.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
