The Service Technician provides support, and is accountable for delivering on McWhinney’s commitments to our residents. This includes quality move-ins, residential satisfaction, expedited service, and personal attention to the community. The Service Technician responds to our resident's service needs and is instrumental in helping McWhinney deliver best in class customer service to all residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs light maintenance duties as directed by the Property Manager and Service Manager
• Using excellent customer service, this position performs grounds keeping work to ensure cleanliness throughout the community
• Inspects grounds to ensure that property is free of debris and notifies supervisor of facilities that need maintenance and/or repair
• Beginning knowledge and skills in plumbing, carpentry, painting, light drywall, grounds keeping, light electrical services, vehicle servicing, signage maintenance, and other tasks as assigned by supervisor
• Ability to work with minimal supervision handling grounds activities, including trash removal and grounds clean up
• Performs painting for general upkeep in the apartment community
• Responsible for snow removal
• Under direction from the Service Manager, performs cycled activities including inspections and certifications

Pay Range: $21 - $22 per hour

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Ideal candidate will show that they are mechanically inclined with the desire to be trained
• EPA/ HVAC highly preferred
• CPO Certified preferred
• Must be available to work “on-call” in various situations, including snow removal (weekends, nights)
• Availability to respond to work orders
• Must be willing/able to work outdoors in inclement weather
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Must have reliable transportation
• High level of professionalism, integrity, positive attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
