McWane, Inc. is Hiring a Vice President of Operations Near Franklin, TN

Overview

The Vice President of Operations is responsible for and supports all aspects of the business including, production, maintenance, engineering, purchasing, shipping/logistics and EH&S. Reports to the President and works with other team members and the executive team to develop and execute business strategies to improve quality, safety, delivery and cost. This role can be based at one of our US plant locations (Quincy, Illinois, Crossville, Tennessee, or Campbellsville, Kentucky) or at our corporate office in Nashville, Tennessee.

Responsibilities

  • Leads 4 direct report managers; supports the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts, and develop capital projects for plant and automation upgrades.
  • Participates in formulating and administering company policies and developing long range goals and objectives.
  • Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates with EH&S Management System to ensure team members follow job procedures and environmental work instructions including those related to hazardous waste management.
  • Works with team members to develops and establishes an annual budget which integrates all functions in the organization, and implements procedures to meet the identified goals.
  • Works with team members to establishes annual cost reduction goals for the organization to meet the business plan.
  • Consults and coordinates with all levels of management to provide information on such issues as drawing, new orders, delivery dates, production and other matters to determine and communicate proper actions to take.
  • Championing and instilling our compass culture focusing on our values of Communication, Safety, Environment, Leadership, Trust, Excellence, Accountability and Teamwork.
  • Driving Supervisor development and holding our front line leaders accountable for engaging their teams and leading the compass culture at all levels.
  • Works with team members to develop and implement policies and procedures at the organization to facilitate timely shipment of product assemblies.
  • Evaluates team member relations and identifies ways to improve team member involvement and commitment to goals and objectives.

Education and Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of manufacturing experience with 5 years of management experience or equivalent experience.
  • Plant manufacturing background is required, metal fabrication would be a plus.
  • Multiple years of running a manufacturing plant with high mix product lines.
  • Hands on experience in implementing Lean principles.
  • Global footprint experience.
