Job Description

Our home office is located in Topeka, Kansas. The Part-Time, non-exempt Field Engineer position is available across the midwest in cities where The MCP Group has current projects. Candidates must be currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from a construction-related program. This is an entry-level position that requires a candidate who is willing to learn the day-to-day field operations of the commercial construction industry and job site. This position is responsible for assisting the Superintendent with all job-site activity. Including management of subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff. The Field Engineer may prepare for and lead meetings with subcontractors, owners, and architects under the guidance of the Superintendent. Communicating key project information to all involved. The Field Engineer reports directly to the Superintendent. The Superintendent is supported by and supports a Project Manager and Project Coordinator who are both typically off-site.

This position will include physical activity on a daily basis as well as frequent work in the elements. All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment drug screen and will be expected to adhere to MCP's safety program at all times.

Part-time Field Engineers who excel in the field may be invited to continue working with The MCP Group at the completion of their educational program of choice.

Education, Experience, and Skills

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in construction management, engineering, or a related program
• Entry-level experience in interpreting plans, specs, safety regulations, maintenance instructions, etc.
• Strong people skills; ability to communicate effectively
• Prior experience with ProCore, submittal software, Bluebeam, Microsoft products, and overall IT knowledge is helpful but not required
