The Position: We are looking for a Social Worker, who is willing to embrace McKinley’s mission and H.U.M.A.N values. The role of the Social Worker is responsible for ensuring safety and welfare of children, youth, and Non-Minor Dependents on their caseload. They are a resource to their caseload, provide treatment assessment & planning. They support those they serve while providing support and monitoring of Resource Families.

Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range we’re offering is $62,400 - $70,000 Annually depending on experience.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited or state approved graduate school in social work or social welfare, marriage, family, and child counseling, child psychology, child development, counseling psychology or social psychology
  • Bilingual ability in Spanish strongly preferred
  • Word Processing; General Office Skills
  • Excellent Reading and Writing Skills
  • Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening
  • Ability to commute daily and continuously to various sites for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds for filing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow through on commitments to children.
  • Orient potential certified foster home applicants.
  • Evaluate and assess applications of potential certified foster family applicants, including doing in-depth home studies as part of the certification process.
  • Evaluate and assess children for placement including continuity of care and counseling services in a certified home.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the “Officer of the Day” at least one full day per week.
  • Develop and update the needs and services plan and assure services are provided.
  • Supervise placement, including direct contact with the child and the certified foster parent(s) on a regularly scheduled basis meeting agency standards.
  • Provide consultation and support services to certified foster parents.
  • Attend school Individualized Educational Program meetings as necessary.
  • Complete all required documentation related to placement of children in the foster family program.
  • Complete adoption home studies as assigned.
  • Conduct a weekly training for prospective foster parents.
  • Facilitate groups for foster and biological children.
  • Participate in all events organized by the agency.
  • Participate in the recruitment of foster parents.
  • Believe that people can change; demonstrate an ability to set limits and intervene. appropriately to meet the needs of the children and families served.
  • Investigate and follow-up on allegations or complaints received regarding foster children and/or families.
  • Interact both verbally and in writing with a variety of county and/or community resources related to potential new and current foster children and families
  • Use personal vehicles for business purposes and for transportation of clients
  • Actively participate in the agency’s Program Quality Improvement (PQI) plan as assigned.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
