Overview

The Firm's Products, Environmental & Mass Tort Litigation practice group has a need for a Paralegal to join its team in Raleigh, NC. The Paralegal will serve as the protagonist in the management of federal and state court filings, case files, discovery, depositions and trial preparation for large litigation cases. The ideal candidate will be team oriented, technologically savvy, have strong data management skills, and work well in a fast paced litigation environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with preparing legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, motions, subpoenas, and discovery-related materials.
  • Manage case files and matter documents through e-Rooms and docketing systems.
  • Ensure filings are in compliance with court rules; filing and e-filing documents therein.
  • Assist attorneys with discovery, including discovery requests, depositions, and issuing subpoenas.
  • Assist with document review and analysis through various platforms, e.g., Relativity, Concordance, etc.
  • Prepare attorneys for depositions and attend trials out of town on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of litigation experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong work ethic with willingness to work overtime when needed.
  • Well-honed interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork.
  • Experience with document review software such as Relativity, Concordance, etc.
  • Experience with ECF with Federal Courts.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, particularly with case files/document management.
