“A Day in the Life”

This is a career opportunity for an outstanding individual contributor with a strong work ethic, exceptional character and a dynamic personality. The Item Master Specialist is accountable for working with suppliers as needed to obtain specifications, researching and capturing item attributes, the item setup process, governance and master setups for all item types within the Mobile Modular Division of McGrath. They will work with relevant partners to establish rules and procedures to ensure data integrity and compliance within Oracle master data files for each organization. Perform other duties as assigned.

“What You’ll Do”

  • Define setup standards and create a master data file for setup new items and maintain existing item master data files
  • Create new items and manages existing item changes for raw materials, products, services, components and other items in Oracle and other systems
  • Establish, maintains and validates bills of materials (BOMs) for goods and coordinates product setups by driving the process with cross-functional teams
  • Work with suppliers as needed to obtain specifications and validate item attributes
  • Work with the business to ensure new products are managed within the ERP system
  • Make recommendations on obsolete, unused and replaced items and updates accordingly
  • Work with accounting to establish cost basis for items subject to accounting review
  • Act as a super user in item related areas of the ERP system and Oracle 
  • Develop, standardize, and maintain new or improved written processes and procedures 
  • Conduct internal audits for process compliance and organizational excellence
  • Provide responsive, detailed and friendly service to internal customers
  • Communicate process changes, enhancements, and modifications to management, peers, staff, and other employees to ensure that issues and solutions are understood

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required
  • Experience with the testing and implementation of a new Operating System a plus

Special Considerations:

  • 20% travel within the continental US 
  • Some evening and weekend work
