MBI/Workwell Occupational Medicine, LLC is seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to join our team! MBI/Workwell Occupational Medicine, LLC is a specialized medical provider that treats work-related injuries and provides occupational health services for employees of our business clients. We have eight welcoming walk-in clinics in Northern Colorado, the Denver Metro area and Colorado Springs with medical providers who are ready to treat employees with an on-the-job injury or illness. This is a full-time position that will be regularly scheduled to work Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm at our corporate office located in Longmont, Colorado. The starting pay range for this role is $18.00 - $22.00/hr, DOE.

Essential Job Duties & Tasks

• Compiles and tracks the outstanding balances owed to medical facilities. Maintains the payment records of all patients, makes payment arrangements and collects on past due accounts.
• Collects on delinquent accounts, liaising between collection agencies, medical facilities and courts.
• Tracks billing and monitors all collections, appealing unpaid and denied claims
• Maintains the compliance of billing department with business practices and local, state and federal regulations.
• Collect, post, and manage patient account payments
• Maintains all patient information confidentiality
• Using coded data to produce and submit claims to insurance companies
• Working directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, and patient to get a claim processed and paid
• Verifying patients’ insurance coverage
• Answering patients’ and insurance company billing questions
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Hours: Business hours are 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday. Hours are dependent on business needs.

Education, Skills & Qualifications

• Completion of a program specializing in an area of medical building and coding strongly preferred
• Two years of experience in a health care billing position
• Proficient in medical coding
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Proficient computer skills, computer software and all other office equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to develop relationships with staff.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
