What would my day look like?

Billing Specialists are responsible ensuring timely and accurate billing clients from their assigned list for the firm's partners and managers. The role will manage work in progress (WIP) and correspond with firm partners regarding their clientele. This includes:

  • Billing clients in a timely and accurate manner including for payroll, bookkeeping, consulting, and tax returns.
  • Conducting research on billing questions from clients.
  • Managing WIP for the assigned list of clients.
  • Maintaining contact with firm partners and managers with any applicable billing questions.
  • Publishing budget report.
  • Compiling and publishing list of new clients and entering practice, document, or tax as appropriate.
  • Maintaining budget and utilization.
  • Drafting correspondence for firm partners and CPAs for client and government interface.
  • Assisting clients with requested information, delivery of documents, and general inquiries.
  • Assisting with daily bank deposits, auto ACH, and receive credit card payments.
  • Prepare sales proposals for clients or requested by partner, manager or Business Development Director.
  • Provide administrative assistance to partners and staff.
  • Prepare correspondence for partners, accountants, and other staff members as requested.
  • Act as backup for other administrative roles and front desk receptionists.

What experience and skills do I need to be successful?

We are always willing to train candidates in the earlier stages of their career or utilize the wealth of skills from a seasoned pro. Here are some skills we'd love to see on your resume:

  • Comfortable working daily in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience working in a related billing role highly desired.
  • Experience working in NetSuite or related billing software a plus.

What will my schedule look like?

This role supports our office hours of Monday-Friday 8a-5p. The role will typically work an 8.5 hour shift with a 30 minute lunch break each day. Generally overtime is not expected outside of tax season. During the January-April tax season, this role does work every other Saturday 8-12 or 9-1 allowing for some extra income with overtime hours.
