Overview

SUMMARY

As an employee at MEC, you need to be passionate about driving day to day results through data consolidation, cleansing, analysis and providing recommendations to sustain and improve profitable customer and product business mix. This position will support the sales commercial operations team and overall MEC financial landscape thru analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and recommendations. The goal of this position will be to add value and standardize the ad hoc part pricing and profitability business analysis and evolve MEC’s internal account review process across all divisions and ERP systems. This is an opportunity that will provide great breadth and width of functional experience and networking across the organization (sales, purchasing, operations, cost estimating, IT). This position covers many aspects of data analysis and must be flexible relative to the business environment and need. This Individual must be driven with high energy, attitude, interpersonal skills and self-motivation to succeed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as deemed necessary.

  • Execution of deep dive customer profitability account reviews per defined schedule for metal market adjustments, LTA productivity cost downs, annual margin reviews for production and OES service
  • Ability to pull data and make ad hoc part and customer profitability analysis, trends and pricing recovery recommendations. Goal will be to standardize and implement process and reporting.
  • Creating and distributing reports to quantify price change impact to validate implementation and support forecasting. Work with Accounts Receivable on short pay reconciliation and inside sales.
  • Working with IT and purchasing to correlate purchase price and sell price adjustment recommendations for metal market based on purchasing programs
  • Working with IT and developing systems / processes to query critical sales / margin / quote / cost data
  • Integration and automation of data into an Account Review template and overall improvement of Power BI reports.
  • Creating customer one-time payment (OTP) files for retro pay
  • Creating customer pricing copies for sales team and internal files with annual impact for reporting
  • Support validating customer blanket contracts received for price implementation with inside sales
  • Networking with sales, operations, finance to deep dive costs and recommended continuous improvement actions in a standardized process.
  • Analyzes, reports, and communicates in a simplistic way variance between actual, forecast and budget.
  • Support development of monthly forecast / SIOP and annual budget process.
  • Provides guidance were requested and responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs of both internal and external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
