SUMMARY

As a Quality Supervisor at MEC, you will directly supervise a team of quality technicians and metrology personnel to support a fast-paced production environment. You will be responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and upholding safety and quality guidelines.

• Provides supervision necessary to quality inspectors and repair technicians in compliance with engineering and quality standards

• Track and manage quality related issues

• Reviews technical problems and procedures of quality department and recommend solutions.

• Standardize best practices to ensure quality products.

• Confers with engineers about quality verification technique to rectify problems.

• Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material.

• Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.

• Ensures that all necessary information is communicated to the other shifts.

• Recommends manpower and staffing needs. Participates in interviewing, hiring and training of department employees. Makes recommendations to the Quality Manager and Human Resources Department.

• Responsible for department orientation of new employees, assessment of employee’s qualifications, and training on company/departmental procedures.

• Ensures acceptable housekeeping throughout department.

• Assures communication and compliance regarding QSP, Work Instructions, and Safety and Health Manuals.

• Conducts 30-60-90 day reviews. Recommends merit increases.

• Other duties may be assigned.

• Associates degree in a related field and 3 to 5 years of supervision experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
