Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. is Hiring a Purchasing Coordinator Near Neillsville, WI

Overview

The Purchasing Coordinator supports production in the following areas: Purchase order management, forecast management, and communication with suppliers, planners and Engineering to ensure material availability along with timely delivery. The Purchasing Coordinator will purchase production materials and supplies by performing the following duties:

Responsibilities

  • Work with Commodity Purchasing team and Suppliers to enter Purchase orders and Releases for blanket Purchase Orders to bring in raw material & component parts.
  • Confirm & update PO dates received from suppliers
  • Monitor pricing on purchased parts/material
  • Work with the Production Planners and Suppliers to revise schedules and find alternate sources to cover drop in orders, changes, cancellations and/or revised forecasts.
  • Determine revised plan in the event of late deliveries from our Suppliers.
  • Coordinate/schedule shipments with the suppliers and MEC Logistics Company.
  • Review and evaluate forecasts from customers
  • Research late parts, and work with suppliers to identify root cause and actions to improve.
  • Work closely with engineering to implement engineering changes. Monitor structure (bill of material) problems and review projects to ensure cost savings and material availability.
  • Communicate and assist with correcting potential inventory errors.
  • Assist with Cycle Counts of tubing and purchased components as needed
  • Actively works with suppliers for cost savings
  • Monitors delivery performance of vendors to ensure on time delivery

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate/Bachelor's Degree in related field, one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with other employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office products, Inventory and Manufacturing software.
