Overview

SUMMARY

As an employee/owner at MEC, you will be responsible for the development, validation and maintaining of CMM programs while providing support to inspectors, engineers, and production personnel to ensure products meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as deemed necessary.

  • Creates, revises CMM programs and CMM reports to reflect engineering drawing specifications.
  • Updates, develops control plan checks related to engineering drawing specifications, including inspection methods and selecting gauges appropriate for inspection activities.
  • Runs inspection programs on CMM equipment, and other measuring equipment to support daily production as necessary.
  • Analyzes and interprets CMM reports to determine adherence to customer prints and/or specifications and communicates CMM inspection results to Operators, Quality Engineering, Engineering as necessary.
  • Develops and supports training personnel on measurement processes for the CMM.
  • Supports sample or prototype builds as necessary.
  • Supports Gage R R studies, capability studies, ISIR’s, APQP activities as necessary.
  • Investigates, documents and resolves issues related to the CMM programs.
  • Supports CMM software decisions and interactions with customer software.
  • Suppports nonconforming material containment as necessary.
  • Assures that assigned activities are performed in accordance with Quality Management System.
  • Serves as technical expert for GD&T and interpretation of AMSE Y14.5M standard.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required, Associate degree preferred. 1-3 years CMM programming experience required. ASQ Certified Quality Inspector is a plus.
  • Experience programming PC-DMIS software.
  • Proficiency with surface plate technology, shop math, metrology, mechanical inspection instruments, and blueprint reading.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with external and internal customers.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office and the internet.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and fostering teamwork at all levels.
  • Must have good organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to meet deadlines with appropriate attention to detail in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment.
  • Able to perform duties with limited direction and guidance.
