SUMMARY OF POSITION:Maysteel is a leading sheet metal fabricator in Sumter, S.C., and is looking for an Inventory Control Coordinator. The person in this position will be responsible for ensuring an accurate report of inventory consumption, performing inventory counts and maintaining product and material inventory levels to support the manufacturing and fabrication process.ESSENTIONAL FUNCTIONS:· Conduct cycle counts daily.· Analyze cycle count adjustment for root cause and coordinate with Operations to ensure corrective action is taken.· Correct all labor reporting errors identified during cycle count activities and coordinate with Supervision the implementation of corrective actions to reduce future errors and risk of inventory write-offs.· Manage the cycle count program including reporting progress, and continuous counts to ensure the pace is on track according to schedule. Evaluate progress and suggest solutions to address identified problem areas that contribute to inventory inaccuracies. Manage and monitor the “D” and “E” items that are counted and not part of the regular cycle count program as well as Manage and track part classifications and new parts within all departments as they relate to the cycle count program.· Assist in training of personnel regarding labor reporting, cycle counting, receiving, and Kan Ban implementation.· Assist in the management of E&O material to lower risk through monitoring, tracking, and quantifying.· Assist with tracking of MO aging and be involved with the process to close MO’s that are not auto closed.· Help with the management of inventory locations.· Reconcile “Dist” location and manage RMA’s.· Track and manage negative inventories.· Establish and maintain work procedures and records for this position’s job responsibilities, as they relate to and in accordance with the Maysteel quality system (ISO).· Maintain current knowledge for this position and within the work area through continuing education, subscriptions, certifications, and memberships.· Participate in team and/or task group meetings to ensure the continuous improvement of processes, methods, productivity and quality, while reducing costs. Participate in in-house training programs.· Ensure that all operations are within established guidelines and conform to Maysteel health and safety standards.· Conduct a continuous study of internal processes and methods, research new technology and develop proposals for the application of such technology for the purposes of cost reduction and process improvement.· Other duties as assigned or required.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High school diploma required.Courses taken via a college or technical school; or one plus year of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must have experience with computer data entry, Microsoft Excel and Word, and a solid understanding of MRP and ERP systems.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift, carry, push, pull, grip, and grasp up to 50 lbs. Employees also frequently bend, twist, and reach and may stand and/or walk up to 8-10 hours per day.WORK ENVIRONMENT:While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Job consists of working in a manufacturing facility. Will work under closely with Facility Operators, Material buyers, and the Operations Management team to perform duties related to production.
