The Compensation Analyst will assist with the day-to-day activities and administration related to the Firm’s global compensation programs for Attorneys and Business Services employees. In addition, this role will support the compensation team with global compensation initiatives and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the administration and day-to-day activities of the Firm’s global compensation programs and processes for Attorneys and Business Services employees
  • Assists with the audit and reconciliation between Compensation, HRIS and Payroll transactions to ensure integrity of the data
  • Participates in annual salary surveys, including preparation and submission of all required data elements, and collaborates with other offices as needed
  • Gathers and analyzes market data benchmarking for existing and new positions using various compensation surveys
  • Provides support for the day-to-day administration and updates to job description and market data databases
  • Assists with the coordination and administration of merit salary increase and bonus programs
  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding compensation processes and assists in the resolution of compensation matters as appropriate
  • Documents and maintains administrative procedures for compensation practices and processes
  • Researches and prepares standard and ad hoc reports and compiles metrics for analysis as needed
  • Serves as liaison between the Compensation team and other departments across the Firm to ensure consistency and compliance in processes and procedures
  • Availability to occasionally work outside of standard US hours to meet the needs of offices around the globe
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job
  • CCP Certification, preferred

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of compensation related experience, required
  • Prior experience working in a professional business setting or legal firm, preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, required
  • Advanced level of Excel including pivot tables, vlookups and formulas, required
  • Proficiency working with compensation survey databases such as Mercer, preferred
  • Working knowledge of HR enterprise applications such as PeopleSoft, preferred

Performance Traits:

  • Strong analytical skills in order to interpret and communicate data gathered
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm and outside vendors
  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the Firm
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines with shifting priorities
  • Must be a self-starter with a high level of initiative
  • Strong customer service skills, able to anticipate needs and exercise independent judgment
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion
  • Exercises solid strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements:

  • May require occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
