We use an approach grounded in design thinking, lean, and agile to help solve complicated problems and turn bold ideas into delightful solutions.As part of the digital creative agency, the Senior Technical Writer will play a pivotal role in transforming complex government benefits programs and improving the total experience across all communication channels.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:•Write print and digital communications that increase citizen engagement in government programs.•Review and edit project deliverables to ensure they apply plain language best practices, are consistent throughout, are free of grammar and spelling errors, and are at target reading level.•Communicate clear, concise, understandable, and actionable information to various target audiences.•Develop content strategy based on program objectives, client goals, and end user needs.•Provide input and adhere to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.•Support several clients or project teams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.•Independently create project case studies, publications, marketing materials, and presentations.•Review and delegate work to other specialists.•Build relationships and grow trust with clients, stakeholders, other departments, and digital team.Minimum Requirements:•Bachelor's degree in related field required.•5-7 years of relevant professional experience required.•Experience in health and human services required.•Experience with government clients is preferred.•Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing and/or plain language writing and editing required.•Experience in digital writing and editing (e.g., websites, mobile apps, web chat, etc.) required.•Experience with cutting edge content management software and/or tools to maintain/search written print and digital program materials preferred. •Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe Experience Manager is strongly preferred.•Experience working with Agile teams is preferred. •Experience developing search-optimized content is preferred.•Proficient in Microsoft O365.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Perform the configuration, maintenance and administration of the company web content management system.- Resolve CMS issues. - Interact closely with Information Systems staff to define problem resolution and appropriate methods to test solutions.- Report web server issues, file management, vendor/IS mediation and the tracking, recording and resolving of issues.- Define web technology needs and enhancements; gather and analyze requirements and, in collaboration with the Web Manager and other technical staff, propose and implement solutions.- Ensure best practices for secure content development and provide second tier technical support for the company web site.- Enhance site functionality while working within the boundaries of the application.- Develop CSS and Java Scripting to improve design and delivery of content.- Further the development of the site both graphically and navigationally.- Integrate automation and improvements to enhance the end-user experience.- Work in close cooperation with other departments to monitor, improve and update the look and functionality of the site and all of its component parts including design, user interface, Content Management System (CMS) and information architecture to constantly improve the user experience.- Design and implement internal and external web pages and applications, determining user needs, strategies, and goals; develop web pages and applications that meet those needs.Minimum Requirements:- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience.- Advanced degree or professional designation preferred.- Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.- Work requires considerable judgment and initiative.- Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
