The Cage Cashier provides friendly, efficient, accurate customer service to guests and co-workers through the process of chip cashing, check cashing, and making simple exchanges. It is a fun job for a public-orientated individual and requires the ability to handle multiple tasks at any given point in a timely manner.

DEFINITION: To protect and safeguard all interest of Maverick Casino & Hotel, Gold Country Inn & Casino, and High Desert Inn. Responsible for providing security to guests, facility, and team members.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The duties listed below are examples of the work typically performed by an employee in this position. An employee may not be assigned all duties listed and may be assigned duties which are not listed below.

  • Must adhere to all aspects of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Program and its regulations including, but not limited to, Title 31 Cash Transactions, Suspicious Activity Reporting, and customer identification requirements.
  • Ensures the integrity of gambling, banking, count room and cash handling procedures.
  • Maintains a constant surveillance throughout the Casino watching for irregularities or illegal gaming devices.
  • Immediately reports suspicious or unusual activities to the proper Dept. Supervisor, Surveillance Officer, or Security Director.
  • Periodically checks perimeter and cash cage door.
  • Monitors and responds to all incoming radio transmissions.
  • Delivers fills/credits from cage to gaming stations.
  • Escorts all chips and cash transfers within the Casino.
  • Collects and transports table game drop boxes to storage area.
  • Maintains and controls access to restricted areas.
  • Checks ID for possible underage customers.
  • Escorts and transports funds for table fill slots and or banks.
  • Provide security for money drops to include tables and slots.
  • Provides escorts in sensitive areas for all non-gaming team members i.e., maintenance, vendors, and or cleaning personnel.
  • Responds to disturbances and alarms and provide security for both guests and team members.
  • Slot vouchers-check in/out and verify numbers and amounts of voucher slips used by each key person.
  • Can drop- remove drop cans from live tables, replace with next shift cans, transport cans to soft count safe and secure. Store empty cans.
  • Responsible for opening outer door of ATM machine for fills.
  • Provide security for Cash Cage and Count Room.
  • Ensures the safety of guests and employees of the Hotel and Casino operation.
  • Performs first aid, CPR and the use of the AED as required.
  • Accepts found property and tags for safekeeping, accepts found or confiscated drugs and tags for safekeeping.
  • Assists in locating lost property, files report if not found.
  • Accepts, records, and notifies management of guest or employee complaints.
  • Removes individuals from the Hotel and Casino when directed by the General Manager or Security management.
  • Crime detection, prevention, and suppression through investigation of suspicious circumstances and the elimination of the opportunity to commit crime, apprehension of offenders.
  • The initial investigation and reporting of criminal and non-criminal incidents.
  • Patrols the Casino, Hotel, and pool areas for undesirable guests. (SRC)
  • Handles all other Security functions as directed.
  • Comply with company and department policies and procedures.
  • Ability to complete reports for workers injuries before in of shift and escort employee to drug testing center when required.
  • Performs related and/or other duties as required.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be 21 years of age and High School graduate or GED.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literate at a moderate to skilled level required
  • Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Able to remain calm in emergency or stressful situations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain State of Nevada Gaming Card.
  • Must be knowledgeable with all State Gaming rules and regulations.

· Title 31 Training.

· Shows continued growth and good customer service

· Must have report writing skills, no more than 4 report kickbacks in a 90-day period

· Must have basic understanding of MICs and SICs

· Minimum of 90 days as Officer 1

· Must have CPR certification

· Must have fire extinguisher training

· Must Pass Officer 2 Test

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work in a fast-paced casino environment. Must be able to stand, walk or sit for long periods of time, speak, and hear, write, finger, and feel, lift and carry up to thirty pounds (30 lbs.) and occasionally more. Employee frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and endure variable temperature conditions (extreme hot or cold).
