This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading team that provides environmental solutions to the public and private sectors throughout the State of Maryland. Job Description: Maryland Environmental Service (MES) has an opening for a Fleet Manager with the Environmental Dredging and Restoration (EDR) Group. This position will be located at the MES Headquarters facility in Millersville, MD. The candidate selected for this position will serve as the manager and purchaser of a variety of vehicles, marine equipment, and heavy construction machinery primarily for various facilities in Maryland that MES manages and operates on behalf of our clients. Primary responsibilities include providing cost estimates, preparing budgets, developing specifications and procurement documents for equipment needs associated with operations and construction of various facilities in the State of Maryland. The equipment requirements include but may not be limited to: passenger and construction vehicles, pick-up trucks, service trucks, fuel trucks, flat beds, trailers, bulldozers, excavators, loaders, compactors, off-road articulated dump-trucks and graders. Includes procurement of other specialized equipment related to marine construction activity including amphibious trenchers/excavators, hovercraft, survey, sampling, and crew boats. Other responsibilities include inventory oversight and management of outsourced major equipment repairs such as upgrades, engine and transmission replacement. Management of fleet inventory includes managing the relocation of equipment between facilities to maximize production and inventory oversight and disposal through the Maryland Department of Transportation’s, Department of General Services. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree plus (6) years of experience in administrative or professional work, one (1) year of which involved supervision of employees or responsibility for program development. Candidates may substitute additional experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of experience to one year of education, for up to four years of the required education. Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points. Must be computer literate, specifically with respect to spreadsheets and word processing. Preferred Qualifications: Functional knowledge and experience procuring leasing, maintaining and repairing vehicles, marine and heavy construction equipment. This position will be open until filled. Estimated Pay Range: $53,011.31 - $92,769.49 MES believes our employees are our greatest asset.
