SUMMARY

Under general supervision of the Operations Manager, the position of Maintenance Technician I is responsible for keeping parks, recreation facilities and grounds clean and safe.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Support the general operational needs of parks and recreation.
• General cleaning of recreation centers, including general program spaces, hallways, and restrooms.
• General cleaning of pavilions, public restrooms, and grounds in park spaces.
• Removal of trash from containers and grounds, including delivery to collection areas.
• Occasional deep cleaning throughout the year, where assigned.
• Other tasks as assigned in support of the organization.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must hold a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be willing to be trained in a valid current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid certification or equivalent.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to provide good and effective communication both orally and written; capacity to understand and follow oral and written orders.

• Stand, sit, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl frequently.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently.

WORK CONDITIONS

• This position requires working in internal and external environments; requires a flexible schedule to include nights and/or weekends. 
• This position requires a valid driver's license.
• Successful candidate must pass a background check.

WORK SCHEDULE

Up to 1,040 hours per year.
