Job Title: Critical Care Transport Nurse Cost Center: 301451091 MqaHos-Emerg Trans-Ground Scheduled Weekly Hours: 4 Employee Type: Regular Work Shift: Variable (United States of America) Job Description: JOB SUMMARY The Critical Care Transport Nurse possesses a higher skill set in the management of patients in a mobile environment. Depending on the age of the patient and the level of care needed, the transport nurse provides basic, advanced, and critical care at the bedside in hospital, and in ground transport vehicles. The transport nurse operates under; State of Wisconsin pre-hospital care guidelines, physician-directed medical guidelines, along with sending & receiving physicians orders. Patient treatments are based on patient setting, and sending & receiving hospital capability. The Critical Care Transport Nurse continually evaluates the plan of care, success of care rendered, and formulates individualized plans with transport teammates to determine actions necessary for the best outcome of the patient. JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: Diploma or Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Preferred/Optional: None EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: Three years’ of bedside critical care and/or intensive care. Preferred/Optional: None CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position. Minimum Required: Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or Nurse Compact License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics within six months of hire. S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification within one year of hire. Current driver’s license with acceptable record may be required (varies by department/location).
