Marquee Brands is seeking a self-starter, strategic thinker who is a highly analytical and creative thinker. The Copywriter will report to the EVP, Creative Director and will be part of the Martha.com team.

Here’s what you will do here

  • Write copy that develops and maintains the distinctive brand voices for Martha.com with a strong understanding of the brands positioning and filters across all channels and platforms – Digital/ Social / Community / Blog / Video 
  • Develop and lead fresh engaging ways to connect with our customers through the voice of our brands across multiple channels
  • Know the market and be inspired, develop new ideas and be a strong partner in the creative process
  • Work cross-functionally with creative team, retail, marketing, sales, direct mail, ecommerce, apparel design, merchandising, wholesale, international and all exclusive brands to ensure development of strategic brand positioning for all products, campaigns and communication
  • Act as copy leader on corporate strategies and initiatives with consistent, distinct and creative brand voice
  • Manage a growing Copywriting team that will write all website copy including product descriptions, product names, and promotional copy

You’re going to need this to carry out this job  

  • Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree in Journalism or other related areas with an emphasis on writing; or combined 5 years of on the job experience in a senior management creative role; ideally in retail/apparel/home writing, preferably in a global brand consumer environment 
  • Expert understanding of marketing campaign development and the mediums and channels to build a campaign: print, video/film, social, digital marketing, email, promotions, e-commerce, retail, wholesale.
  • Experience collaborating with creative and marketing roles.
  • Creative thinker who can provide a solid portfolio
  • Diverse knowledge of the apparel/retail competitive landscape and resourceful use of research mediums.
  • Detail oriented and meticulous proofreader of your work and other colleagues.
  • Use visual and creative sensibilities to translate creative concepts into materials for our consumer.
  • Ability to take responsibility for all copy management and delegation on complex projects concurrently.
