Job Summary:
The Strategic Business Analyst is a non-exempt role responsible for all program analysis, data collection, and reporting, as well as developing program processes to maintain all necessary reporting metrics. The primary role of the Business Analyst is to collect and analyze data for ongoing evaluation regarding impact on program/department activities. He/she provides strategic and operation insights to managers to aid in program operational and field decision making processes. This position is responsible Identifying and conducting the necessary analyses using quantitative and qualitative data to determine the optimal design for accomplishing program and project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Main responsibility is to provide analysis of performance of field sales/customer engagement team for team management as well as overall general business operations performance for customer (retailer or manufacturer) as well as our team’s sales contributions
- Primary duties also includes ability to analyze performance data (exercising discretion and independent judgment) to determine significant changes to billing, compensation, organizational changes, model changes, increases or decreases in coverage to the overall program
- Collects and analyzes data for standard reporting, ad-hoc reporting and miscellaneous reports requested
- Presents Data in a clear, effective, concise deliverable manner, using visuals as appropriate
- Works with program lead to assist with program tracking and other similar tasks
- Analyzes program initiatives to develop, measure, track, and report on key performance metrics and ROI
- Works with program and field management to establish reporting processes
- Proactively provides management support by identifying trends and developing analytical intelligence
- Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership for their end product through continual process improvement
- Develops new processes to improve program execution efficiency
- Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved within predefined timelines
- Creates program and business executive summaries
- Performs data integrity maintenance
- Performs necessary data gathering to understand current business processes and systems
- Defines necessary business and functional requirements for IT and Operations to execute, so the appropriate business processes and technologies are developed
- Works with Ops / IT after requirements have been completed to ensure that the project is launched according to project goals / expectations
- Creates PowerPoint presentations for meetings and account reviews.
- Supports daily functions including: analyzing, confirming receipt and storing of reports
- Communicates complex concepts in a simple way
- Creates and maintain forecasting models for use in all levels of the business
- Acts as a liaison between the program and the CRM administrators, helping to define means of capturing pertinent data
- Designs process/system improvements to automate process flow, enhancing productivity
- Assists in creating and training on systems, processes, and productivity tools
- Works directly with program leadership and MS finance/payroll to reconcile employee commissions monthly
Supervisory or Management Responsibility/Decision Making Level:
- Maintains client engagement ;field sales engagements; support team engagement
- Minimal impact on budget planning
- Engages in client facing reports as well as program level reports such as ROI, CIA
- Role reports directly to the Program Director and is viewed as a leader within the organization
- Requires self-motivated individual willing to work with program leadership to make fact based recommendations that may impact how the business is managed
- Essential to work effectively and discreetly with management and peers when dealing with sensitive data
- Capable of representing the business in high level business meetings/discussions that may include the client
- Strong understanding of the client’s industry preferred
- No direct reports or authority will reside with this position
Minimum Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree in related field or equivalent experience required
- 3-5 years related Business Analyst experience
Requisite Abilities and/or Skills:
- Strong business and industry acumen
- Demonstrated operational and process development skills
- Working knowledge with internet and web based data collection and reporting
- Highly proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Experience with data sets
- Ability to use necessary tools to manipulate data to produce reports
- Proactive, “can-do” attitude
- Must be self-motivated and work independently
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Must be strong at problem solving, analytical, and have the ability to multitask at all times
- Preferred expert level in Excel, with strong understanding of Excel at a minimum
