Registered Architect

Marker is an established and growing Central Ohio commercial real estate development and construction firm, with over 65 years of success. We are currently seeking a Registered Architect for a variety of design/build projects, feasibility studies, and conceptual design. Required experience includes working with multiple building types, design, and project management. The candidate must be proficient in preparing presentation drawings and construction documents utilizing Revit and AutoCAD. LEED AP preferred. This position reports to the Vice President of Design Management.

Position Summary:

• Assist the Vice President of Design Management with design, drafting, and coordination of design-build projects and overseeing other department staff.
• Ability to work with MS Office Suite and architectural software, such as Revit, AutoCAD, Lumion.
• Lead and develop projects from early concept through construction for a variety of commercial and industrial projects.
• Prepare Feasibility Studies and Master Plans, including Building Programming.
• Coordinate schematic design for major new structures and alterations to existing structures and site development.
• Review zoning and building codes and make submissions to local jurisdictions.
• Prepare detailed drawings and construction documents & specifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Necessary Skills:

• Ability to work with architectural software to create buildings and plans, such as MS Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, and Lumion
• Familiarity with the Ohio Building Code and how to analyze zoning codes
• Review drawings and checklists
• Extremely detail-oriented and accurate
• Excellent computer skills
• Solid understanding of drafting techniques
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong sales and presentation skills
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to motivate and manage people.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related course of study
• Five years of relevant experience preferred
• LEED AP certification preferred
• Registered Architect, in the State of Ohio preferred, or on a registration tract

Primary Location: Columbus, Ohio

Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the Vice President of Design.
