• This posting is for a 2nd shift position, normal hours are 3pm-1:30am Monday-Thursday, but hours can vary based on business

  needs! Shift differential!

• Performs surface preparation of parts prior to painting. Marks areas to be filled. Mixes hardener and filler that requires computation of mixing ratios by operator. Applies hardener and filler to unfinished areas needing smoothing and contouring.
• Spray primer, paint filler and protective paint on prepared surfaces. Uses some judgment in obtaining desired finish.
• Roughs and finishes parts using various types of sandpaper and hand sanding machines to provide surface for paint adhesion and smooth appearance.
• May spray primers or various paint finishes to parts.
• Responsible for the quality of own work.
• Uses painting equipment including brushes and spray guns to perform minor rework, touchup, priming, finish painting of special projects when not otherwise engaged in paint preparation duties.
• Works from oral and written instructions and established procedures.
• Use mill thickness gauges and viscosity cups to establish thickness of paint

When not painting, other Assembly duties include:

• Position parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled.
• Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets or other fasteners
• Must understand and follow QMS and how it relates to the position
• Other duties may be assigned

• Technical Degree or High school graduate and equivalent training and paint experience.
• Minimum 2 years painting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Painting metal parts is a plus.
• Must be able to read and follow blueprints
• Detail Oriented
• Mill thickness gauges, viscosity cups, paint to military specs a plus!

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Frequently ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like
  
• Frequently moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
• Frequently remaining in a stationary position, often standing for prolonged periods
• Frequently moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
• Frequently adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
• Occasionally communicating with others to exchange information
• Occasionally repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
• Frequently operating machinery and/or power tools
• Frequently operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment
• Frequently assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
• Occasionally low and high temperatures with outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind
• Occasionally noisy environments

To assure surfaces of parts are smooth and prepared for primer and finish paint application; apply finishes to a variety of metal parts and assemblies. When paint work is low, assist in assembling metal products, such as cabinets, cylinders, etc.
