Maplevale Farms is a family owned, broad line foodservice distributor. Servicing restaurants, schools and healthcare facilities in Western NY, PA and OH.

Job Description:

The Buyer will purchase goods and services according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.

This is a Monday thru Friday 7:30 am to 4 pm postition. A qualified candidate has the potential to become a Category Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Purchases goods and services according to the company’s policies and procedures.
• Coordinates with managers to maintain inventory levels.
• Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
• Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
• Communicate with Sales Reps and Customer Service regarding product questions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

• Purchasing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
• Requires travel.
