About Us:
Many Languages One Voice (MLOV), founded in 2012,fosters leadership and facilitates community-led initiatives to increase the meaningful inclusion and civic participation of people in the District of Columbia who do not speak English as their primary language in decisions that impact their lives. We approach this by using uniquely integrated strategies that raise awareness of, educate, consult with, advocate for, and organize around the rights of the District’s immigrant community of limited and non-English speakers.
Youth Program Manager: The Youth Program Manager will be responsible for planning and implementation of the MLOV Youth Program for middle school and high-school youth, ages 12 - 18, which includes after-school programming and a summer youth program. The Youth Program Manager will also be responsible for supervision of a Youth Program Coordinator and program instructors.
This role is a full-time (40 hours), salaried, permanent position. The expected salary range for this position is $62,000 - $68,000 per year. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, with a desired start date of early November 2022.
A further overview of responsibilities is below:
Staff supervision:
Supervise the youth program team, consisting of: Youth Program Coordinator and part-time program instructors;
Program Design:
Utilizing existing program curricula, lead the design and development of MLOV’s community-based youth programming. This includes annual program planning and curriculum refinement;
Assess the needs and interests of youth in the community and research existing program models and practices to refine programming;
Program Implementation:
Provide day to day management of program activities and staff;
Facilitate or assist with program session instruction;
In partnership with Youth Program Coordinator and instructors:
Foster a welcoming and safe environment for youth;
Engage with parents and guardians and communicate participants’ progress as necessary, including in regards to attendance;
Ensure the necessary equipment, food, bookings, wet weather plans and safety logistics are smoothly executed;
Ensure adherence to all program and organizational policies;
Maintain up-to-date program operations binders;
Administrative:
With support from the Youth Program Coordinator, conduct administrative and clerical duties such as maintaining attendance records, filing and data entry;
External relations:
In partnership with Executive Director, maintain and strengthen relationships with organizations, local colleges and schools to support program initiatives;
In partnership with Youth Program Coordinator, work with middle school and high school counselors and administrators to recruit program participants;
Grant Support:
Support Executive Director and/or Development staff with the preparation and submission of relevant grant proposals and reports;
WIth guidance from Executive Director and Development staff, ensure the programmatic components of the Youth Program meet specified grant and budget requirements;
In partnership with Executive Director, Development staff and evaluation consultants, establish and implement learning metrics and ensure program success is accurately measured;
An ideal candidate’s characteristics:
Experience and passion for working with youth and demonstrated cultural competency to work with diverse audiences;
Strong management and organizational skills;
Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or related fields;
Ability to develop, implement and promote youth development programs;
Minimum of 4 years of experience in teaching, counseling or guidance of middle school or high school students, youth development, social work or education program management;
Ability to prioritize work and meet program objectives, as well as working both independently and on a team to problem-solve and exercise sound judgment towards youth safety and wellbeing;
Ability to work outdoors and participate in physically-intensive activities with youth, for example: field trips to museums, parks, etc.;
Knowledge of DC’s educational landscape is a plus;
Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred;

Possesses or willing to undergo the following background checks and certifications:
Current check from DC Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) Child Protection Registry (CPR)
Current check from Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
Current check from Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Criminal Background Check, and
Current check from National Sex Offender Registry (NSO).
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
