Manson-NW Webster Community School District is Hiring a Food Service Director Near Manson, IA

Qualifications:

Training in the operation and maintenance of a lunch program or cafeteria preferred. Training in compliance with school lunch program requirements necessary prior to assuming duties. Must possess a ServSafe certification.


Job Summary:

The food service director is to direct, plan, and coordinate the lunch program for the buildings.

Terms of Employment:

Salary and benefits to be established by the Board of Education.

Evaluation:

Job performance will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy for Cook Evaluation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Advise the superintendent in the equipment repair and/or replacement needs of the school lunch program.
  • Inspect and assume responsibility for the efficient operation of the lunch program.
  • In conjunction with the superintendent and principal, be responsible for the health and safety of personnel and students.
  • Oversee preparation of monthly menus that meet state and federal regulations.
  • Prepare monthly and annual reports.
  • Recommend administrative rules and regulations to the superintendent.
  • Keep a perpetual inventory of all foods, commodities, and lunchroom equipment.
  • Acquire food from the approved sources.
  • Be responsible for the care, use, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Complete commodity request forms as requested.
  • Complete bid documents for food and supplies, in cooperation with the superintendent or designee.
  • Establish in cooperation with the superintendent and other cooks, a daily work schedule for all assistant cooks.
  • Organize the kitchen for the day.
  • Set up the serving counter.
  • Help serve meals.
  • Prepare a daily report of meals served with the secretary.
  • Call substitute workers from the approved list as needed.
  • All other duties as determined with the superintendent or designee.
  • Do all bookwork for all school buildings in the district.
  • Visit all kitchens to observe inventory, efficiency and cleanliness.
  • Place all commodities, meat products and weekly food orders.
