We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our energetic, multidisciplinary team. This position is a full-time, virtual position and reports to the CFO.

Background on the company and position:

The company is led by a technically oriented team - five of our senior team members have PhDs in STEM. We put the safety and well-being of our people above all other priorities. We love to track and measure. We use a software called Asana to monitor project progress, allocate tasks and communicate across different shifts and locations. We follow detailed standard operating procedures for all research testing, plant operations, and business operations. We keep detailed timecards. We have meticulous naming and version control policies for all electronic files. We record and thoroughly analyze all data and are in constant pursuit to find the best and most efficient way to get things done. We work hard and always seek to work smart.

Mango is in growth mode. Scale-up of this type is a process with many unknowns and surprises, and this position will have the opportunity to support scaling a first-of-its kind technology. We are looking for someone to join us on this adventure with an open mind and enthusiasm to get into details. A glass half-full, positive attitude is a must!

The mission of this position is to ensure financials are up to date, accurate, and presentable. Payroll, accounts payable and receivable are all executed accurately and timely. All accounting records are continuously updated.

The Staff Accountant will be expected to:

• Perform cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
• Assist with bookkeeping, purchasing, and business-related activities
• Manage accounts receivable and payable, month end processing and account reconciliations
• Process monthly accounting transactions
• Provide monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements that are accurate and timely
• Reconcile the general ledger
• Manage and execute bi-weekly payroll
• Track PTO
• Liaise with vendors and follow-up on late accounts
• Pay vendor invoices
• Review W-2s and process 1099s
• Conduct monthly credit card and bank statement reconciliation
• Manage bank and credit card accounts
• Assist with tax-related issues
• Maintain accounting filing systems (contracts, receipts, W-9s, etc.)
• Provide support for budget and forecasting activities, providing data as needed

Our ideal candidate is/has:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA or similar/equivalent experience
• QuickBooks experience
• Experience in accounting and bookkeeping

• Excel proficiency
• Highly attentive to detail
• An overall positive outlook
• Ability to organize
• Excellent written communication skills
• A problem solving, outside of the box thinker
• Comfortable with a fast-paced work environment and the uncertainty inherent in a start-up company
