Overview

The Purchasing Manager for our Campbellsville, Kentucky plant will lead and manage the sourcing and supply chain of all material and services needed to run the facility. This includes raw materials, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations), safety and environmental supplies, services, etc. This role will also create and maintain supplier relationships to manage supply chain risk and obtain the greatest value for Manchester Tank.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and directs the procurement and supply chain for material needed for the facility.
• Collaborates and strategizes on supply chain and operational activities.
• Managers all sourcing activities including analysis of purchasing requests, negotiation of prices, and placement of orders.
• May lead more complex negotiations and/or negotiations involving critical materials.
• Reviews and approves all facility suppliers and sources.
• Ensures purchase orders are completed in a timely manner and delivery of on-time orders to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Develops and implements procurement policies and procedures for facility in compliance with Company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Creates standards and advises staff regarding sourcing methods, scope and terms of supply agreements, supplier sources and short and long-term procurement plans.
• Performs cost/benefit analysis, project estimates for materials, strategic purchasing plans and continency plans to maximize profit or minimize loss caused by unplanned events in collaboration with management.
• Reviews and approves contractual agreements, service agreements, and subcontracts.
• Works with Director of Global Supply Chain on more complex agreements.
• Manages staff, including providing coaching and training, setting goals, evaluating performance, planning staff assignments and development, and making and approving people management decisions.
• Looks for opportunity to get employees involved in safety, environmental, process changes and overall improvement efforts.
• Follows all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.
• Report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to their manager or any member of management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or other related field.
• Previous analytic qualifications or experience is essential.
• At least 5-8 years of progressive experience in a similar role.
• Experience in one of more of the following areas: Manufacturing, Trading and Distribution, Logistics and Supply Chain, and/or Metal fabrication.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel.
• Experience with inventory and supplier management, employee management, pricing and contract negotiation, and ERP systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all cross functional teams.
• CPSM/CPM, CPIM, and/or CLTD certifications preferred, but not required.
