Description

Job Summary:

This position has two key responsibilities: private client business development and financial center management. Responsible to develop client relationships and sell financial services such as deposit accounts, loans, wealth management referrals, etc. to consumers through business development. Also required to oversee and coordinate activities of the Private Banking Center including insuring quality customer service and compliance with operational policy, procedures, and guidelines.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Maintain and develop prospects from current commercial customers, referral leads, networking events, current book of business, branch network, etc.
  • Contact prospective customers to present information and explain available services.
  • Determine customers' financial services needs and prepare proposals to sell services that address these needs.
  • Represent company in community (i.e. networking groups, volunteering, etc.) to promote products and develop business opportunities.
  • Manage brand ambassadors in your region to ensure development of niche and other business development efforts.
  • Recommend ways to meet emerging client needs (i.e., regional promotions, peer study, etc.) through proper channel (i.e., product development meeting, business development meeting, etc.)
  • Present sales and service activities in Business Development Meeting with Head of Private Banking.
  • Maintain records related to business development and sales. i.e. call logs, book of business, etc.

Financial Center Management

  • Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
  • Review all performance management in a specified region i.e. performance reviews, performance memos, performance goals, etc. for employees in the assigned center.
  • Implement and ensure adherence in a specified region to bank policies, goals, objectives, and procedures. Recommend changes to senior management when necessary.
  • Oversee all aspects of the financial center office in a specified region.
  • Ensure office knowledge and compliance with established bank policies and procedures i.e. branch policy & procedure manual, mortgage and consumer loans policies and procedures, Employee Handbook, bank products and services, commercial loan policies & procedures, SOX control points, dual control, etc.
  • Review and follow bank policy for transactions requiring management review/authorization, such as negotiating and waiving service charges, check cashing, teller differences, funds availability, etc.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of all bank’s products and services and policies and procedures.
  • Fill in as a back-up or when needed for all functions within the branch.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by a supervisor.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Educational/Training Requirement:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience:  

  • 8 years of progressive retail banking experience.
  • 5 years business development experience with developed private client relationships
  • Book of business is preferred but must have private client relationships to build on

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but can be substituted with bank management experience
  • Business Development experience – in Private Client environments
  • Staff management and bank center leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment
  • Ability to develop new business
