Summary
For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $3,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible experienced Pharmacy technician
Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
- Position Summary
- The Pharmacy Technician II works in a supportive role to, and under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician II performs a variety of duties relating to medication preparation, storage, distribution, and disposition. The Pharmacy Technician II is competent in the preparation of compounded sterile products, including total parenteral nutrition.
- Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- License/Certifications: Licensed as a technician by the State of Maine. CPhT preferred (and required within one year of employment).
- Experience:At least one year of hospital pharmacy experience.
- The use of good time management skills is required. The ability to organize, plan, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks in a timely, accurate manner is essential, especially under some stress. Problem solving and judgement based on prior experience or knowledge of policy and procedure is required.
- The Pharmacy Technician II demonstrates outstanding critical thinking and decision making skills. He or she understands the limits of a non-pharmacist staff worker, and is able to direct specific questions to the pharmacist.
