MaineHealth is Hiring a Pharmacy Tech II-Pharmacy Near Brunswick, ME

Summary

  • For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $3,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible experienced Pharmacy technician

    Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

    Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

  • Position Summary
    • The Pharmacy Technician II works in a supportive role to, and under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician II performs a variety of duties relating to medication preparation, storage, distribution, and disposition. The Pharmacy Technician II is competent in the preparation of compounded sterile products, including total parenteral nutrition.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    1. Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
    2. License/Certifications: Licensed as a technician by the State of Maine. CPhT preferred (and required within one year of employment).
    3. Experience:At least one year of hospital pharmacy experience.
    4. The use of good time management skills is required. The ability to organize, plan, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks in a timely, accurate manner is essential, especially under some stress. Problem solving and judgement based on prior experience or knowledge of policy and procedure is required.
    5. The Pharmacy Technician II demonstrates outstanding critical thinking and decision making skills. He or she understands the limits of a non-pharmacist staff worker, and is able to direct specific questions to the pharmacist.
