Position Summary

MAG is currently searching for a software developer who is capable of creating programs, functions, and capabilities by writing code in a variety of computer languages including C#, C , VS Code, PowerShell and Bash. Experience with VN.NET and Python is very helpful. The developer is capable of performing in a Development Operations environment (DEVOPS) and apply Agile methodology and configuration management principles under the direction of a software engineer or architect. because the developer will work on DoD software, cyber certifications are required, including Security or Network and a Computing Environment (CE) certification, e.g. Microsoft Server or Cisco IOS. This Software Developer will directly support software activities with a cutting-edge technology for our DOD customer at NAWCTSD in Orlando, FL

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: 

• Provide horizontal integration of System Software across and within segments.
• Support Product and Functional IPT leads and IPT-embedded Software SMEs
• Coordinate with Navy Sponsors and contractors to update/correct requirements/designs
• Collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system concepts

Minimum Requirements 

Knowledge and Skills 

The required skills and knowledge include: 

• B.S. in electrical or computer engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited institution. Coursework specializing in computer hardware and software is desired.
• 5 years of practical experience in software systems engineering associated with modeling and simulation within the training and training systems domains.
• 5 years of experience with software engineering functions such as, requirement analysis and definition, configuration management, quality assurance, unit and system level testing, reliability and maintainability, cost estimating, risk analysis/assessment, and human factors is required.
• 5 years of experience with current and emerging software development methodologies, processes, and life-cycle models, (e.g. CMM, CMMI, IEEE-12207, Waterfall, and Spiral).
• 5 years of experience with current and developing military equipment and systems.
• 5 years of experience with a wide range of non-engineering, non-scientific information in the form of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Military Standards, DoD/DON/NA VAIR policies, directives, and instructions and must know the - applicability of these documents to assignments.
• 5 years of experience with software and technical Military and Commercial Standards (e.g. MIL-STD, DOD-STD, IEEE, ISO, and ANSI).
• 2 years of US Government acquisition experience, with 1 year in a DoD program directly supporting Training and/or Training Systems Acquisition.
• PowerShell, BASH, C#, C , VS Code, VB.NET
• Agile methodology, Get Repo, VMWare ESXi, HyperV
• Network System Administration, ports & protocols

Education 

The minimum level of education required is: Bachelor's degree (4 years)

Desired Requirements  

The desired skills, knowledge, and education include Azure experience, Active Directory, Cyber hardening, Microsoft Desired State Configuration (DSC) methods and practices, server hardware (Dell, HP, small form factor)

Other Qualifications

Outside of the above, other certifications, licenses, or clearances include:Security or Network Certificate and CE certificate DoD TopSecret Security Clearance 

Physical requirements for the job include: Office/developer environment; long periods on computer keyboard; minor lifting and movement of office products, laptops, monitors or other IT equipment up to 25 lbs.
