Position Summary

MAG Aerospace is actively searching for talented, motivated people to fill a Junior/Mid-level role on our team of RF Test Engineers and development specialists supporting the SINCGARS Research Integration Lab (SINCRIL) project at Aberdeen Proving Ground in MD. The candidate will play a critical role in the establishment of a test and performance evaluation program in support of PdM Waveforms, and in the development of test criteria based on the candidate’s in-depth understanding of the technologies at play. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Exercising expertise in use of test and evaluation equipment. (i.e. Spectrum Analyzers, BER Test sets, Signal Generators, Frequency Counters, Power Meters and Sensors).
• Configuring networks and hubs in support of test activities, performing configuration activities that exceed the capabilities of a standard user.
• Automate testing using various testing softwares. Knowledge of Visual Studio and/or other programming languages is a plus.
• Preparing professional and correct test reports and results presentations for management and customers
• Frequent use of test and evaluation equipment. (i.e. Spectrum Analyzers, BER Test sets, Signal Generators, Frequency Counters, Power Meters and Sensors) in pursuit of testing and performance evaluation activities. Understanding of Digital, Analog, Mixed signal, high speed testing, tester hardware design
• Familiarity of RF concepts and waveforms, both MANET and Line-of-sight.
• Development of test cases, concept of operations, and procedures in support of waveform testing.

Knowledge and Skills

The required skills and knowledge include;

• Must be able to document test results in a clear and concise fashion at both the engineering and laypersons’ levels for the benefit of vendors and customer leadership.
• Ability to use automated test software and understand programming languages.
• Expertise in use of Microsoft Excel functions and graphing capabilities.
• Experience with Visio or like diagramming and vector graphics applications.
• Experience in the establishment of test and evaluation criteria.
• Experience with Software Defined Radios (configuration and user level)
• Familiarity in RF concepts and waveform theory.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and evaluate test results.
• Ability to summarize information for use in plans, procedures, test reports, and presentations.
• Familiarity with COMSEC and TRANSEC concepts.

The minimum years of related experience required:

• 4 years engineering or technical experience

Education

The minimum level of education required is:

• 4 year degree in a technical field or comparable military experience.

Desired Requirements

The desired skills, knowledge, and education include

• 4 years engineering or technical experience preferably related to RF but not required.

Other Qualifications

Outside of the above, other certifications, licenses, or clearances include 

Secret Clearance is required
