Position Summary

This position is for an electrical engineer to assist in the design, development, and documentation of electrical systems modifications for fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Applicant will work with senior electrical engineers and Engineering Manager to understand requirements and translate those requirements into system level installation drawings and wiring harness fabrication drawings. Closely coordinate with Structural engineering team members to ensure electrical modifications are captured in their structural modification drawings. Closely coordinate with avionics technicians to ensure they understand electrical modification installation instructions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Requirements decomposition to understand and document needed electrical modification.
• Creation of electrical installation and harness fabrication drawings using AutoCAD LT / Solid Edge.
• Review of component and system level ICDs to understand electrical wiring requirements to successfully integrate components.
• Support avionics integration team, and assist in clarification and interpretation of installation and harness fabrication drawings.
• Support ground and flight test operations to troubleshoot installation errors.
• Support documentation efforts to capture analysis, test, instructions, results, and other supplemental information.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Familiar with Federal Aviation Administration electrical wiring standards.
• Proficient with AutoCAD LT / Solid Edge for creation installation, harness, and routing drawings.
• 2-4 years of related experience required.
• Must have a BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university. 

Clearance

• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

Desired Requirements

• Experienced using SIEMENS Team Center
• Experience with aircraft radios & antennas
• Experience with FAA certification process
• Experience with EO/IR sensors and integration
• Experience with weapons management and fire control systems
• Experienced with FAA STC certification standards and procedures
