Mad City Windows and Baths is hiring an Accountant to join our Accounting team in Madison, WI. The Senior Accountant will assist with general accounting operations. Overseeing the reconciliation of account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, reporting and preparing month-end close procedures and assisting with ad-hoc analyses and requests. The successful senior accountant we are looking for combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do: 

• Under the general direction of the Operations Controller, performs general cost accounting, accounting records, and other related duties in daily administration of the accounting department.
• Coordinate semi-annual audits
• Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
• Delegate financial responsibilities to the accounting team
• Assist the payroll department with daily job costing as needed
• Review credit card receipts and GL coding as uploaded by card holders
• Weekly preparation of customer refund checks
• Weekly upload of checks to positive pay
• Monthly reconciliation of credit cards
• Initiate ACH payments through the banking website
• Oversee other accounting (A/R, A/P or general) tasks as needed/requested

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting 
• 3-5 years experience in accounting
• Knowledge of Acumatica
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft programs 

• Excellent organizational skills
• Attention to detail 
• Effective corporate communication skills 
• Team player 

• Ability to multitask and prioritize to consistently meet deadlines 
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
