Baxter is currently seeking a Machine Set-up / Operator to their team! As a Machine Operator, you will set-up, run and maintain the automated machines in the Cuffs Department. You must have a high level of mechanical skills with the capability to use root cause analysis to troubleshoot machining issues to diagnose and fix issues that arise with a high sense of urgency to achieve departmental goals.

We are hiring for all 3 shifts.

Responsibilities

• You must be able to read and follow drawings and other related instructional and quality documents related to the product.
• You must also be able to operate Calibrated Leak Testing Equipment, plus use calipers and other measuring devices.
• You will diagnose, fix, or get technical support to take care of faulty operations and/or equipment malfunctions. 
• Also work with Group Leaders, Supervisors, technical support and/or other team members to offer suggestions for improvements, help to resolve manufacturing issues, and monitor production for manufacturing results.
• You must have a working knowledge of SAP to be able to view, print &/or fill out all documents associated with Cuff Production (DHRs, BOMs, Drawings, Routers, MPS, Production Sheets, Work Requests).
• Besides mechanical skills, you will need to be able to communicate effectively with Supervision, Engineering and Technical Support.
• Also, clearly communicate and train your operators on how to identify Quality Issues and use Leak Test Equipment.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalency as well as 1 year (minimum) of successful experience in an operational area OR demonstrated proficiency and mechanical ability and knowledge.
• You must have good mechanical dexterity/eyesight, be able to read, write and use math equations and understand metric measurements; maintain a high degree of accuracy in filing out daily documentation.
• You must be able to lift 40 lbs. and work in various positions such as standing, sitting or working in repetitive jobs/assemblies.
• You must have the ability to adapt to a changing work environment, including: increased automation, change in production methods or sequences and rotation among the department.
• You must be able to work well with others and be able to participate in a team environment.
• You must be willing to learn and apply LEAN Manufacturing Tools (e.g. 5S). You may be requested to work overtime, as needed.
