Summary
Oversees personnel and daily operations of the human resources department. Applies company policy and procedures to consistently support employees and operations to meet company objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Acknowledges legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
- Recruit, interview, test, and select employees to fill vacant positions
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals
- Keep records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting
- Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relation issues
- Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
- Administer performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization
- Administer salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within Organization
- Administer benefits programs such as disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance
- Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation, and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
- Prepare reports and recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover
- Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations
- Contract with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as canteen, transportation, or relocation service
- Ensures compliance with process and procedures and specific directives of the functional department Director
- Effectively manages HRIS and Payroll systems and processes
- Reports applicable HR / Analytics and takes initiative to improve procedures, and processes
- Ensures understanding, training and fairness of performance management (appraisal) process.
- Supports and leads Organizational Development efforts at the site including but not limited to employee development, succession planning, career paths and department or organizational needs. Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment
- Partners with GM’s, Plant Managers, and other staff members to lead and continuously improve the business
- Leads and supports Communication and Employee Engagement activities
- Leads and support Community support events
- Any other duties assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly Supervise employees in the Human Resources Department
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s polices and applicable laws

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Basic computer skills
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred
- Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training
- Professional certifications preferred
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work in an office environment with exposure to a manufacturing/plant environment
