Body Shop Clerk

The Body Shop Clerk position assists the Body Shop Department in all clerical duties. The Body Shop Clerk is responsible for executing body shop department administrative tasks and organizing body shop department daily activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Make body shop appointments; ask the customer qualifying questions to uncover needs and directs calls appropriately.
  • Greet customers at the counter and respond to customer inquiries with courtesy, accuracy and professionalism.
  • Understands the needs of the customer, developing a flexible service process, to draw them into the store for vehicle repairs.
  • Ensures that body shop employees receive messages promptly.
  • Provide reporting to dealership management.
  • Collect the total repair charges from the customer in cash, check or authorized charge account.
  • Provide the customer with the proper change and/or receipt.
  • Properly process and document charge purchases according to the policies established by the Controller.
  • Close all internal repair orders promptly and route to Billing Clerk for processing.
  • File accounting copies of repair orders and parts tickets, file hard copies of repair orders in customer service files.
  • Meet customer service standards by achieving ‘above district’ customer service information “CSI” scores.
  • Follow established safety protocols; report any shop equipment in improper working condition; immediately report safety incidents.
  • Understand, keep informed of, and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA right-to-know.
  • Safeguard dealership assets and customer data.
  • Maintain professional personal appearance.
  • Complete required training assigned through the company training portal.
  • Adhere to consistent and reliable work schedule.
  • Demonstrate ethical business practices and integrity in all interactions to uphold the Mac Haik Automotive group brand.
  • Effectively perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s Licenses and acceptable driving record
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening
  • Authorization to work in the USA
