As an Engineering intern at Maark, you will work as part of a small team to help craft, build and support web applications from design to deployment. You’ll have the opportunity to work with every part of the software lifecycle from front-end layout and interaction to APIs to testing to automated deployment. We work on highly creative projects, utilize a wide variety of technologies, and empower each of our developers to create innovative solutions and explore and master emerging web technologies. Applicants should have knowledge of programming fundamentals and familiarity with development processes, as well as a curious, disciplined mind with a desire to learn and help create world class software. 

Logistics

• College students only; applicants in their junior year and above preferred but all interested students are encouraged to apply
• Paid internship; for-credit applicants also considered
• Internship’s expected to run from late June to mid-August, ~10 weeks
• Accepting full-time (30-40 hours/week) interns
• Monday through Friday between 9am-5pm Tuesdays and Thursdays are mandatory in Charlestown, MA office days
• Vehicle not required, office accessible by public transportation

Responsibilities  

• Support the complete software development process from conception to deployment. 
• Help to maintain and upgrade software in production following deployment. 
• Contribute to the manual and automated testing of developed software. 
• Attend Agile process ceremonies and contribute to the refinement of requirements and process. 
• Job shadow team members to learn how their day-to-day impacts the larger organization. 
• Receive job training and mentorship that will expand your skill set. 

Qualifications (Must have)  

• You are working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. 
• Proficient in JavaScript, front-end frameworks and application logic. 
• Proficient with HTML and CSS for cross-platform browser development.
• Understanding of contemporary web application development concepts like component architecture, state management, server-side rendering, etc. 
• Knowledge of NodeJS and server-side JavaScript development. 
• Familiarity with DBMS technology. 
• Experience with Git. 
• You are able to build relationships with internal team members. 
• You are able to work both independently and within a highly-collaborative environment.
