Summary/Objective
The purpose of this position is to provide quality preventive maintenance service and all other major repairs to all scheduled vehicles, with safety as the number one goal.
Essential Functions
Methods, materials, tools and techniques used in vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance.
Diagnosing mechanical problems and performing repairs.
Understanding of basic computer skills to operate diagnostic electronic tools.
Safety practices and procedures.
Electrical systems, must be able to properly troubleshoot
Operation of vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes must have CDL license with a clean DMV report.
Use of power and hand tools, along with personal level of tool ownership and inventory.
Prepare and maintain records and reports.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public.
Follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers’ service specifications.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
ASE Certification
Must be able to lift 50#’s

Engine training from specific engine manufacturers
Drive train familiarity
Ability to perform tire work.
Steering and suspension specialties
Ability to perform PM’s
Work Environment
Well light and plenty of room to work in the service area.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Heavy lifting (50 lbs), twisting, bending, standing, use of both hands and arms. Moderate noise level exposure.

This is a full-time position. Hours and shifts may vary, dependent on location and need.
Education and Experience
Must be a graduate of a Technical School where the skills were learned or have equivalent experience. For the State of Michigan - Must be licensed to work in the State of Michigan as Mechanic.
