Job Title: Technology Support Specialist

Reports to: IT Support Contractor / President of M*CARBO

Job Summary:

The Technology Support Specialist provides technical support to end-users of an organization's computer systems and software applications. They troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, provide training and support for new technology solutions, and maintain hardware and software inventories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to end-users by answering support calls, responding to email inquiries, and resolving technical issues in a timely manner

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose software and hardware issues, and provide resolution or escalation to appropriate team members or vendors

  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications and hardware components, including computers, printers, scanners, and other peripherals

  • Provide training and support to end-users on new and existing software applications and hardware systems

  • Manage and maintain hardware and software inventories, ensuring adequate supplies are available for end-users

  • Assist with the maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points

  • Stay current with emerging technologies, software applications, and hardware trends, and recommend upgrades or changes to improve system performance and functionality

  • Participate in project teams to plan and implement new technology solutions, including system upgrades and software installations

  • Maintain accurate documentation of all technical support activities, including support tickets, resolutions, and other related information

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

  • 2 years of experience in technical support or related field

  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software systems, including operating systems, applications, and peripherals

  • Experience with network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools

Physical Requirements:

This position may require occasional lifting of computer equipment and other related peripherals. The ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time may also be required.

Work Environment:

The Technology Support Specialist will primarily work in an office environment, but may be required to provide support in other areas of the organization as needed. This position may require occasional evening or weekend work to support system upgrades or other technology-related projects.
