Description

Summary:

A Host is the first impression the guest receives when entering the restaurant. Friendliness, excellent service, and high standards are a must for this position. The Host also greet Guests upon arrival, inform Guests of their wait time, monitor a waiting list, take to go orders, show Guests to their table and bid Guests farewell as they leave.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Greet incoming and departing Guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escort them to assigned dining area; present menus; announce waiter's name

* Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions.

* Seating guests at a tables or in waiting areas.

* Assigning guests to tables while keeping table rotation in mind.

* Answering phone calls, taking reservations, answer questions, and taking to go orders.

* A knowledge of the menu and beers.

* Helping out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.

* Help stocking retail area and beers.

* Providing great customer service.

* Light brewery admin

* Distributing mail and communication with other departments.

Requirements

Skills and Abilities:

* Ability to provide top notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.

* A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure.

* Able to handle money accurately and operate point of sales system.

* Able to articulate clear greetings and farewells to Guests, as well as being able to understand requests for assistance

* Must be upbeat, outgoing and positive

* Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment

* Ability to work effectively within a team

* Ability to effectively communicate on the telephone.

* Physical Demands:

* Must be able to walk and stand during entire shift

* Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and wipe

Experience:

* Restaurant experience a plus.

Education:

* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
